Unity Arena, Oslo: the complete English guide
Unity Arena is Norway's largest indoor arena, on the Fornebu peninsula just outside Oslo, holding roughly 25,000 people for concerts. Opened in 2008 as Telenor Arena and renamed Unity Arena in 2024, it is the default big-room stop for international artists touring Norway, especially while Oslo Spektrum is being rebuilt. This guide covers everything an international visitor needs: how to get there from Oslo Airport, buying tickets safely, seating, and where to stay.
Quick facts

How to get to Unity Arena from Oslo Airport
From Oslo Airport (OSL), take the Flytoget airport express train (about 20 minutes) or a slower, cheaper regional train (about 25 to 30 minutes) to Lysaker station. From Lysaker, bus line 31 runs to the Telenor Fornebu stop right by the arena in another 10 to 15 minutes. Allow a little extra time on concert nights.
Coming from central Oslo instead, bus line 31 runs directly from Nationaltheatret via Lysaker to Fornebu, about 25 minutes, with extra departures on concert nights. Note that the Fornebuparken stop closes about an hour before doors for big events, so use the Telenor Fornebu stop, which sits right next to the arena.
Prefer to walk? It is a pleasant 15 to 20 minute walk from Lysaker station to the arena along the fjord, and often faster than a packed bus. After the show, many visitors walk back to Lysaker and take the train (about 7 to 10 minutes to Oslo Central Station) rather than queue for a full bus.
Driving is not recommended for large shows: the Fornebu road network is limited and leaving after a big concert can take 45 to 90 minutes. If you must drive, a common trick is to park at Lysaker and take the bus in.
Tickets and avoiding fraud
Buy only through the official vendors, Ticketmaster.no and Eventim.no. Choose digital tickets on your phone where offered, they are the simplest and safest option. Avoid unofficial third-party resale sites, where prices are frequently inflated well above face value and counterfeit tickets do turn up. If your plans change, look first for an official resale or ticket-exchange option through the vendor you bought from.
- Red flag: a price far above (or suspiciously below) face value, with pressure to decide immediately.
- Red flag: the seller wants payment outside the platform's secure checkout, for example by direct bank transfer.
- Red flag: the seller cannot confirm the exact block and section before you pay.
Seating, bags and entry
Because the stage placement changes from show to show, the seating map looks different for almost every concert. Two main layouts are used: full hall (around 25,000, seating wraps the whole floor) and half hall (around 12,000, with the rear curtained off). Ticket types usually include fixed tribune seating (assigned row and seat), General Admission standing on the floor, and on some shows a fenced premium standing area at the stage called Golden Circle.
Bags or backpacks larger than A4 size are generally not allowed. A camera without a detachable lens is fine, a professional camera with a detachable lens is not. A sealed water bottle up to 0.5 litres is allowed, but umbrellas, selfie sticks, laser pointers and outside alcohol are not. Rules vary by event, so check your specific show. There is no re-entry once you leave.
Doors typically open 1 to 1.5 hours before showtime. Your entrance number is printed on your ticket by block and section, and the building has entrances all the way around, so check yours before you travel. There is no staffed cloakroom, so dress for the weather and travel light. The venue is cashless: card or mobile payment only.
Where to stay
For the simplest night, stay on Fornebu itself: Quality Hotel Expo (directly across the street and the closest), Radisson Blu Park Hotel (about 300 metres away) and Scandic Fornebu (a 15 to 20 minute walk) are all within reach of the arena. They sell out fast before major shows, so book early.
Lysaker is a middle-ground option, with Thon Hotel Lysaker and Comfort Hotel Runway near the station, 10 to 15 minutes from the arena by bus 31. Central Oslo has by far the largest hotel selection and generally lower average prices, plus restaurants and nightlife, at the cost of about 35 to 40 minutes of travel each way.
