The first 17 names for 2027

The organiser announced the first 17 acts on 22 September 2026, led by Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Turnstile, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Helloween. Headliners per day, the day-by-day split and set times have not been published. In 2026 the festival ended up with more than 60 bands, so further announcements are expected.

⚡
The top five

Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Turnstile, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Helloween top the announcement. Two of them have headlined Tons of Rock before: Judas Priest in the record year 2024 at Ekebergsletta, and Helloween at the final Halden edition in 2018. Which night each of them plays in 2027 is not published.

🇳🇴
Four Norwegian acts

Satyricon, OnklP & De Fjerne Slektningene, Seigmen and Gåte are the Norwegian names in the first round, spanning black metal, hip hop, alternative rock and folk rock.

🎸
The rest of the first round

Amon Amarth, Kreator, Motionless in White, I Prevail, Watain, GWAR, Blue Medusa and Neckbreakker complete the list. None of them has been given a day or a stage yet.

📋
Full list in the organiser’s order

The four stages

Tons of Rock 2026 ran four stages simultaneously across the Ekebergsletta grounds, plus The Swamp, a new 2026 area with an unannounced pop-up stage and no fixed schedule. The 2027 stage layout has not been published. Download the official app for the stage-by-stage schedule when it drops.

🎶
Scream Stage, Main stage

The main stage. In 2026 all four headliners performed here: Iron Maiden, Bring Me the Horizon, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Limp Bizkit. The VIP stands have a view of this stage, and The Sun accessibility area is by the ramp next to it.

⛈
The Storm Stage

A stage in a hangar, launched in 2025 as the festival's fourth stage. Used for interviews, standup comedy and concerts with new acts, and there is seating inside the tent.

🏔
Vampire Stage

The second big stage. In 2026 Alice Cooper, A Perfect Circle, BABYMETAL and The Offspring played here, according to the published set times.

🌙
Moonlight Stage

The tent stage. The exit next to Moonlight Stage is also the way down to the city on foot, along a lit path through the woods to Gamlebyen.

🐊
The Swamp (new area, not a fixed stage)

New for 2026 and separated from the main grounds by a portal built from shipping containers. The area had the Tons of Art tent, tattoo booths, vinyl stalls and a skate ramp. On top of the portal sat a surprise stage whose line-up was announced shortly before each set, not a fixed programme of concerts.

Day-by-day lineup 2027: not released

The organiser has not said which day each band plays, and has not named headliners per night. The table below is filled in as soon as the split is announced. Set times usually arrive a few weeks before the festival.

Tons of Rock 2027 tickets

Tons of Rock tickets are sold through official channels only. Festival passes for 2027 went on sale in two steps: a presale for subscribers to the organiser’s newsletter on Wednesday 23 September 2026 at 10:00 CEST, and general sale on Thursday 24 September 2026 at 10:00 CEST. Only festival passes are released in this round. The 4-day pass costs NOK 4,499 including fees, the same as the launch price in the presale, and the organiser says prices will rise; the festival site also reports Early Bird as sold out. According to the organiser, the 2026 festival passes sold out before New Year.

🎫
Festival passes, 4 days

Valid Wednesday to Saturday. On sale since 24 September 2026 via Ticketmaster, after a newsletter presale on 23 September. Personal, cannot be split into day passes. NOK 4,499 including NOK 89 in fees.

🎫
Day passes, coming later

Not released for 2027. In 2026 day passes covered all stages for one day and could not be changed to another day. Day passes do not include camping.

⭐
VIP tickets, coming later

Not released for 2027. VIP is an upgrade per day on top of an ordinary ticket, with stands and seating facing Scream Stage, own bars, own food, own toilets and fast-track entry. The stands have steps and are not wheelchair accessible.

🔄
Resale & refunds

The organiser names no resale channel of its own, but says it is fine if the ticket carries another name than yours, as ID at the gate is only used to give you the right wristband for your age. Tickets are refunded only if the whole festival is cancelled for reasons other than force majeure, not if one or more artists cancel.

How to get to Tons of Rock

Ekebergsletta is well connected to Oslo city centre by public transport. The festival strongly discourages driving. There is no public parking for festival visitors on site.

🚌
Festival shuttle bus (recommended)

The shuttle bus 91 «Tons of Rock» leaves from track 19 at Oslo S and runs direct to Ekebergsletta from 11:00 on all festival days (Wednesday to Saturday). Going home, it leaves from the main entrance. Requires a Ruter ticket for zone 1.

🚉
Tram 13 / 19

Tram 13 or 19 to Sportsplassen, then about a 10-minute signposted walk to the main entrance. From the centre, tram 13 stops at Dronningens gate and Bjørvika, and tram 19 at Jernbanetorget and Bjørvika.

🚋
Metro (T-bane)

Metro line 1 or 4 to Brattlikollen, then about 20 minutes on foot. Going home, the organiser points to line 4 from Ryen, where there is also a taxi rank.

✈
From Oslo Airport (Gardermoen)

Take Flytoget or a regional train to Oslo S; Flytoget leaves every 10 minutes and takes 19 minutes, according to Flytoget. From Oslo S, take the shuttle bus from track 19 or tram 19 from Jernbanetorget.

All Oslo public transport uses Ruter tickets, and the organiser notes that one Ruter ticket is all it takes to get up to Ekebergsletta. Buy it in the Ruter app. There is no parking for festival visitors, and in the evenings the police often close the road up to Ekeberg for taxis; the nearest taxi rank is at Ryen.

Festival map & venue

Tons of Rock takes place at Ekebergsletta in Oslo, unchanged for 2027. The ground is mostly grass without big differences in slope, but it can get muddy after heavy rain. The organiser publishes the festival map and a separate accessibility map before each festival, and the map is in the official Tons of Rock app. We do not reproduce it here, as it is the organiser's.

Everyone staying there needs a personal camp ticket, bought in advance from Ticketmaster, plus one pitch ticket per tent, motorhome, caravan or bus. The festival itself requires its own ticket.
